- Springtime in MinneSnowta
- Oh Life Post - Full day. Up early for Deo Rehearsal. Nice lunch with the
group. Dad brought bread mom made - yum. After rehearsal we met everyone at Jen’s
and said goodbye to mom and dad. Carsten and I then went and washed my car and
took a walk at Medicine Lake. We had a really nice time. At then end of the
hour long walk we made boats from a magazine I had in the car. We tried to
float the boats in a huge puddle but while we had fun making the boats we were
not successful in our floating efforts. I brought Carsten home, and I had a pancake
dinner with them. I came home and crashed. I think it reached 65 today...so
nice!!!!

- 7 Things to Know
- Oh Life Post - After a nap I went to church to help make sandwiches for the New Member Reception. We had 14 new members including 5 baptisms. Three of the baptisms were from one family. The parents of the family speak mostly Spanish so Sam Horn translated for them. Lindsay was in charge of the reception and she mostly hung out with Chris to show off her ring! The reception really is down to a science, so she wasn't that needed anyway. :-)

- OhLife entry: Got to Jess's around 4:30 and the rest arrived by 5. We enjoyed a yummy steak, salad, green beans, garlic bread and mashed potato dinner. Finished it off with blueberry cupcakes made by Jen and Ethan. Mom opened presents before we had the cupcakes. Tomorrow while dad and I are at Deo rehearsal Jen and Jess are taking mom shopping to spend her birthday money.

Didn't get a lot done today except relaxing. I went to Jen's to feed their fish since she forgot to tell me until she texted - they left town to go up north.2011
Normal day at work: me working feverishly, my boss in meeting all day, my boss leaving early to go to an out of office meeting...I'm thankful that I have a job. I'm thankful that my job has taught me a lot. I'm thankful for the skills God is allowing me to use at my job. I'm thankful that my boss and co-workers are Christians. I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to share my testimony with a co-worker today.
Lindsay and I went for a walk tonight. I had gone with Sarah at lunch so it was a double walk day!

Morgen spent the night last night. We woke up around 8. I started to do laundry but the coin mechanism got stuck on the machine after the first load so I called the landlord to fix it. She assured me they would fix it that morning, but they didn't until the afternoon.
Since I couldn't do laundry we headed out to do lunch and ended up stopping at Quiznos for subs. We thought about eating our subs at a park but saw a grassy, park area across the way that had tables set up for chess/checkers next to a pond with a waterfall. We enjoyed the sunny picnic and then walked over to Home Depot. I got some nice flowers to replace my dead flowers that had been dead for a few weeks. We then stopped at the library and picked up a ton of DVDs for Morgen.
We got home and it was really starting to get hot. We headed out to quickly change out my dead flowers for the new ones and ended up getting locked out of my building. Thankfully my neighbor was home so we could get back in.
Once we got in we worked on getting cooled off and Morgen enjoyed her Cinderella movies while I snoozed on the couch :)
Luke called during one of my cat naps and we made plans to go bowling. Lindsay has a groupon for free bowling for an hour that's good until Oct. I think we've only gone 2 or 3 times so we need to do it more!
Jess served brownies and coffee at their place after bowling while we watched a little pre-season football and chit-chatted a bit.

It's a hot and steamy day - so thankful for air conditioned home and work. I accidentally left the a/c on all day so when I got home it was nice and cool!! I might regret that later, but for now it's nice...ahhh...
Work was good today - Boxes is on vacation so I got some stuff done and was able to move some projects along. We've got two client events coming up in August and I've got some work to do in the next couple of weeks in regards to those events. I'll be glad when August is over but that means just a month and a half before we move!! We're ordering furniture next week after we visit the showroom and see some possibilities.

- Here's an update from the last few days. We haven't really put out much info b/c it keeps changing and/or we're waiting for test results, but bottom line is mom isn't feeling well (nauseated) and is at the hospital right now.
- July 8, 2012
- Got a text early evening from Mom that she was at ER with shortness of breath. Shortness of breath is something she’s been dealing with since she first was sick, but it really is wearing on her.
- While in ER they determined the shortness of breath was from 1/4th her lungs being filled with fluid and they also took a CT scan (which she was probably going to have done on Tuesday at a Pulmonologist appointment. July 10th was the earliest she could get in when scheduled 2 weeks ago).
- The CT Scan was supposed to locate the fluid so they could know best where to drain it from. They attempted 3 times to drain it but were not successful so they called in a surgeon (who would use a bigger needle – yikes!). When the surgeon finally came he decided not to do the draining until Monday morning when they could use a sonogram so they didn’t puncture the liver
- Also waiting to hear from a doctor about when she can have a biopsy of a 3” cyst they found on her pancreas in the CT scan.
- She went home for the night.
- July 9, 2012
- Mom returned to doctor today and had the fluid drained. They are sending the fluid off for testing. Results will take a week. Jen drove over yesterday morning with Morgen.
- Thankfully the fluid draining as helped her feel a bit better except for nausea that she is dealing with.
- July 10, 2012
- Pulmonologist appointment at 11am which had been scheduled for about 2 weeks. He reviewed all her xrays and did some blood work. Tomorrow she's supposed to call him for preliminary results.
- Cyst is most likely from Anti Fungal medicine so she's no longer taking that.
- Jen was there to help ask questions but they really didn't learn anything. Just have to wait for test results.
- Jen left late afternoon. Mom was uncomfortable, couldn't get rest, but there wasn't anything Jen could do. Anna was on her way with a couple of hours of driving left. About an hour or so after Jen left, Mom asked Dad to take her to Duluth to the hospital. They made it north of town and got 2 flat tires. After they waiting for roadside assistance, Mom went home.
- Anna drove them to the hospital in Duluth once she arrived. They waited a while to be seen by a doctor and last I heard they were in with the doctor still.
- Other Events This Week
- Two of Jess's kids had dental surgery: V (1yr) on Monday (he’s recovering nicely) and E (3yr) Tuesday (also recovering well, but he's hurting still tonight and missing his birth parents. They were there for the surgery.
- Jake's are flying in for Meg's sister’s wedding on Friday the 13th! They were supposed to get in tonight but their flight has been delayed several times (mechanical, then weather). They're hoping to get to Atlanta tonight so they can get a flight here first thing tomorrow.
- Mom and Dad moving - they were hoping to get in Friday or Saturday, but the new carpet and painting might not be done yet. Dad was hoping to get the big stuff moved this weekend with help from church people and just move the rest as needed. They have the house until the end of the month.

Happy Birthday, Dear, Anna!

- Morgen spent the night. We took Lindsay out for coffee around 9:30 for her birthday. I had asked Lindsay on her birthday when she wanted to go out for Birthday coffee and today was what worked for her. It was fun! The weather was perfect so we sat outside. Maybe a touch warm in the sun, but I enjoyed it a delicious cup of earl gray with cream and Splenda. Morgan and Lindsay had cold coffee drinks.
- We had to get home before 11 so Lindsay could get ready for her church bridal shower. Morgen and I hung out for a bit at my place. We were going to pick up Jess and meet Jen at the shower. Jen, Jess and I bought Lindsay a crock pot. I helped Lindsay record her list of gifts so she could send out Thank You notes.

- 200th Post
- This week has been different. It feels like Thursday, but alas, it's only Tuesday!
- I started riding the bus yesterday and surprised myself by getting on the earlier one. I managed to get on it again this morning -how impressive! I only have to walk 1 block down to the other side of the CVS parking lot and I think I could park there if I was running late - I'll have to check.
